Project Title The effects of light intensity and/or temperature on the jumping ability of juvenile brook trout.

Project Abstract This project is part of a larger study investigating possible means of excluding brook trout through the use of artificial waterfalls. This particular project will either look at the physiological effects of water temperature on the jumping ability of juvenile brook trout or at the effects of different light intensities (light, dark, twilight) on their ability to successfully negotiate waterfall-type barriers. This study would be of interest to any student who has a background in fisheries and an interest in the application of fish physiological ecology to fisheries management.
